Contract Terms & Conditions
Monthly Service Fee is how much you will be charged each month for internet service only. Monthly Service Fee does not include taxes, surcharges, or other recurring charges. In this section, if the Monthly Service Fee is a promotional/introductory rate, we will detail what the new monthly service fee will be after the promotional period and when the promotional period expires.
The Contract Term is the minimum service term, listed in terms of months. Cancelling before the required minimum service term may require you to pay an early termination fee (defined below). Once a required minimum service term expires, you automatically have a month-to-month contract service term, which you may cancel at any time without incurring early termination fees.

Monthly Fees include:
Local and state government taxes and fees will vary based upon your location.
The Administrative Cost Recovery Fee is a monthly $1.23 surcharge imposed on all Viasat subscribers. This surcharge is not a tax or government charge. It aims to recover certain internal costs and expenses incurred by Viasat to conduct its billing operations and comply with proper billing practices. A portion of this surcharge also recovers some of Viasat's costs to implement, administer, and comply with various requirements involving local taxation and licensing as applicable. The surcharge is subject to change from time to time as the cost of compliance changes.
Monthly Lease Fee covers the lease of equipment needed to deliver internet connectivity to your home. Viasat does offer a one-time Lifetime Lease Fee (see below) as an alternative to the Monthly Lease Fee on most plans. You may choose either option if available.
One-time fees include:
Lifetime Lease fee is a one-time fee option that covers the lease of the required equipment for as long as you remain a customer using that equipment. Lifetime Lease may need to be renewed if you switch equipment or service plans. Equipment will still need to be returned if service is cancelled. Lifetime Lease is not available on some plans. You must select either the Lifetime Lease fee or the Monthly Lease Fee.
An Early Termination Fee is assessed if you cancel prior to the end of your minimum service term. This is calculated based on how many months are remaining in your contract minimum service term at the time you terminated your service.
Installation Fee covers the cost of installing the required equipment for service and will vary based on your location and credit status.
The Activation Fee for business internet customers covers the initial administrative costs of setting up the business internet service.
For certain internet plans, there may be additional sections with details about the following:
One-time fee discounts
Periodically, Viasat may offer promotions that discount certain monthly or one-time fees. If there are any promotional discounts on monthly or one-time fees, they will be listed out in a section labeled “One-time fee discounts”.
Lifeline
Lifeline is a government funded program that makes internet more affordable to qualified consumers. If your plan is eligible for this program, it will be listed in a section labeled “Lifeline Eligible”. Lifeline is not available on all plans.
Speeds Provided with Plan
Typical download speeds
xx-xxx Mbps
Typical upload speeds
xx-xxx Mbps
Typical latency
xx ms
Typical Speeds are the expected speeds during network congestion when you have not exceeded your plan's data or usage thresholds.
It is important to note that Internet speeds will vary. For example, in times of network congestion and during peak usage hours, users may experience slower speeds. Conversely, customers could experience faster speeds when the network is not congested.
Download Speed is defined as the rate that digital data is transferred from the Internet to your home. Typical Download Speeds are those speeds that you can expect most of the time when the network is congested and when you have not exceeded any data allowance or other usage threshold for your service plan.
Upload Speed is defined as the rate that digital data is transferred from your home back to the Internet. Typical Upload Speeds are those speeds that you can expect most of the time when the network is congested and when you have not exceeded any data allowance or other usage threshold for your service plan.
Latency is defined as the amount of time it takes for data to travel across our network. Typical Latency is the delay you can expect when data is traveling across our network while the network is most congested.
All typical speed and latency data is updated quarterly.
Data included with Monthly Price
Unlimited
If your data usage is trending to exceed the "typical usage" of a residential user on our network, you may have reduced priority during times of network congestion resulting in slower speeds. Typical usage currently means usage trending to exceed 850 GBs in any 30-day period. The typical usage amount will vary based on network demands. Please visit airllevant.com/legal for more details.
Charges for Additional Data Usage
None
For Viasat Unleashed: If your data usage is trending to exceed the "typical usage" of a residential user on our network, you may have reduced priority during times of network congestion resulting in slower speeds. Typical usage currently means usage trending to not exceed 850 GBs in any 30-day period. The typical usage amount will vary based on network demands.
Some plans include unlimited Standard Data but a fixed amount of High-Speed Data: After your usage exceeds the High-Speed Data limit, you will continue to receive unlimited Standard Data. However, Viasat may prioritize Standard Data behind other customers during network congestion, which will result in slower speeds.
For Connection 25 Plans, once your data usage exceeds your monthly High-Speed Data allowance, Viasat will significantly slow and/or restrict your service, or certain uses of your service, until the end of your monthly measurement period.
Viasat does not charge a fee if you exceed your data limit. However, your experience may slow significantly, depending on your service plan, location and network congestion.
